GFL honors David Moses and Marcia Miller

Time to pass the champagne glasses out…Gift for Life is proud to announce two industry leaders, David Moses and Marcia Miller, will be honored during Gift for Life’s winter fundraiser, Party for Life, on January 30, 2011 in New York.

The Bert Tonkin Gift of Giving Award (named for industry benefactor Bert Tonkin) recognizes philanthropic industry endeavors, as well as selfless efforts toward benefitting the industry as a whole. That honor goes to David Moses, CEO of Lazy Susan USA. As an active board member of Gift for Life, we’ve seen firsthand just how enthusiastically David dedicates himself to a worthy cause. Many a mountain began moving because Mr. Moses was pushing them along.

The inaugural Trailblazer Award, recognizing industry pioneers for outstanding achievements and contributions, will be bestowed upon Marcia Miller, President of Mud Pie Inc., thanks to her talent for bringing creative products and ideas to the marketplace that continue to have lasting impact.

“These special honorees combine significant business success with a passionate mission to help others,” said Jenny Hammons, chair of the Gift for Life board.  “We recognize their tireless energy and their generosity.”

Here’s a bit of insight into our two rock stars:

David Moses
Founder and owner of the highly successful New York-based sales rep agency, The Lifelines Group, David later joined OneCoast in 1998, where he was president from 2001-2006.  In 2007, he founded and led industry consulting firm Next Step Strategies; in 2008, he became Chief Executive Officer of Lazy Susan USA, one of Next Step’s clients.  David continues to serve as a board member of Gift For Life following multiple terms as member of the advisory council for The NY International Gift Fair.

Marcia Miller
Currently president of Mud Pie LLC, Marcia blazed an entrepreneurial trail since the 1980’s.  As a gift and housewares sales representative, she gained important insight into the gift market, recognizing segments that were not being adequately supplied with products.  After exploring product development, she launched a 10 piece line of Mud Pie gift and garden-themed products in 1987.  Today, the company offers more than 4000 items at any given time. Items are both functional and decorative, highly detailed and offer superior quality.  Under Marcia’s leadership, Mud Pie has matured into a major force within the gift industry.
