May 20, 2015—Gift for Life, the gift and home industries’ leading charitable organization, has announced Tom Mirabile will be honored with the Gift for Life Industry Achievement Award during Gifts and Decorative Accessories’ 64th Annual Retailer Excellence Awards, taking place on Sunday, August 16, 2015, in New York City. The award recognizes overall excellence and contribution to the gift and home industry.
Tom is currently Senior Vice President of Global Trend and Design for Lifetime Brands, Inc. where he provides creative direction and consumer insights internationally for some of the most well respected retailers and brands in the home, housewares and tabletop industries. His emphasis on consumer-centric product development and design has guided the evolution of such brands as Mikasa, Pfaltzgraff, KitchenAid, Farberware, Towle and Wallace. He also serves as Consumer Trend Forecaster for the International Housewares Association and a Contributing Editor for Pantone.
Previously, he served in senior merchant and product development positions with companies including Neiman Marcus Group, Macy’s and Bloomingdales. He has designed home collections for iconic brands including Vera Wang, Calvin Klein and Kenneth Cole.
“I’m so honored to accept this award, but a lot of the credit belongs to future-focused organizations like Lifetime Brands, who have always been incredibly supportive of my passion for knowledge sharing and change in the home industry. I’ve also been exceedingly fortunate to partner with retailers who have been so generous in allowing me to share in their vision and help them bring it to life.” said Tom. “I humbly thank Gift for Life and Gifts and Decorative Accessories magazine for this remarkable honor.”
“Tom is a visionary designer and trend expert who has added style, comfort and functionality to homes around the globe,” said Frank Joens, chair of the Gift for Life board. “We are proud to present Gift for Life’s 2015 Industry Achievement Award to such a thought-leader in our industry.”
