January 15, 2021 – Gift for Life, the gift and home industries’ sole charitable organization, announces that Adam Glassman, creative director of O, The Oprah Magazine, will serve as its honorary chair and spokesperson through 2021.

“I am thrilled to be contributing to Gift For Life’s mission and their fundraising for DIFFA (Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS – an organization that I have stood behind for that last two decades,” said Glassman. “2021 is the year for the gift and home industries to come together even more so with a collective intention to create magic and expand our purpose.”

With COVID-19 causing cancelation of in-person events at industry markets, Gift for Life will pivot towards online micro-fundraising events for the balance of 2021.  As honorary chair and spokesperson, Glassman will support Gift for Life fundraising for the grantmaking efforts of DIFFA: Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS, as well as other ad hoc needs identified by the Gift for Life board.

“It is with great pride and enthusiasm that the Gift Board welcomes Adam as out Honorary Ambassador for 2021,” said Matthew Katzenson, chair of the Gift for Life board.  “Adam has been a tremendous advocate for so many in our industry and to have him be a part of our fundraising will bring so much energy to the work we do.”

Adam Glassman has been Creative Director of O, The Oprah Magazine since 2000, overseeing O’s style pages, all aspects of the magazine’s cover shoots and the highly anticipated Oprah’s Favorite Things. Since 2007, Glassman has been fielding questions from O readers on a wide range of fashion topics for his monthly ‘Adam Says’ column and was a pioneer in using real women for fashion shoots in the magazine.

Glassman serves as a special correspondent for EXTRA sharing his expertise, style and wit for millions of viewers, which earned him a Daytime Emmy Award in 2016. He appears regularly on Good Morning America, The View and other national television shows.

Gift for Life was founded by Peter Schauben of Appleman Schauben in 1992 in response to the tragic loss of industry lives to AIDS.  The organization’s first meeting at the National Stationery Show brought together a cross-section of the industry’s leading publishers, market centers, sales reps, manufacturers and retailers – all willing to convene and work together towards a common goal.  Since that time, Gift for Life has raised nearly $6 million for AIDS research, education, treatment and care through nationwide at-market events, cause marketing programs and direct donations.

Gift for Life unites the gift and home industries against AIDS with nearly $6 million raised since its inception in 1992. In 2008, Gift for Life selected DIFFA: Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS, one of the largest funders of HIV/AIDS service and education programs in the U.S., as its primary beneficiary. Since its founding in 1984, DIFFA has mobilized the immense resources of the design communities to provide more than $47 million to hundreds of AIDS organizations nationwide.
