GFL/NY NOW Team Shatters AIDS Walk NY Fundraising Goal
It's amazing what 16 people can do!
The small, but mighty, Gift for Life/NY NOW team, has raised $45,684 for AIDS Walk NY, as of Sunday, May 19, when they were among thousands who gathered in NYC's Central Park (and virtually) to raise funds for GMHC's HIV/AIDS treatment, prevention and advocacy programs.
Former GFL chair, Matt Katzenson, not only led the team in fundraising with $13,320 donated by friends and family, but also was one of the event's overall top fundraisers. Other Gift for Life/NY NOW “Star Walkers” who raised $1,000+ were Caroline Kennedy, Kate Duff, Kelly Bristol, Amy Loewenberg, Su Hilty, Bill McCue, Sally Fisher, Caroline Geremia and the Schmook Family. As of May 19, the team has raised $45,684 and is ranked third in overall team fundraising.
Donations are accepted through month-end.
Donate to Celebrate Dorothy
On June 19, Gift for Life will bestow its 2024 Industry Achievement Award to Dorothy Belshaw, president of ANDMORE. In connection with this award, she has set a $30,000 fundraising goal.
In an email appeal to friends and family, Dorothy said:
"I have been amazed by the tenacity and dedication of GFL's leadership and by the widespread and whole-hearted commitment of this industry to help those in need and to do good.
As a recipient of this email, you have already supported me at some point in my career. Maybe you taught me how to merchandise a floorplan, negotiate a lease, edit a press release, sell a booth, work an international trade show, find my way around High Point, solve a problem, celebrate a win, own a mistake. Maybe you helped me understand the role of the multi-line agency, the impact of supply chain disruption, the definition of FOB pricing, the technology of order management software applications, the difference between fused and dichroic glass. Maybe you supported the launch of Gift in Las Vegas as a customer, a teammate, or an investor.
I'm sure we have shared a laugh, a good story, or a meal, and we probably argued once or twice - sorry about that. Thank you for what you have already done to help me - without even knowing it. And I hope you'll consider helping me again...to help others."
Join us in celebrating her achievements! The award will be presented at the Retailer Excellence Awards on June 19 in Dallas. Event information and tickets are available, below, and donations are accepted through month-end.
